Hi I’m Shaine Dyus
A women’s speaking coach and facilitator of Open Mic Storytelling events for women around the world.
My teachers effectively stifled me from expressing my thoughts and opinions in class by punishing me for being perceived as disruptive.
This led to me keeping quiet during my younger years and not expressing my feelings, my knowledge and craving connection.
Over a period of time, the bottled-up emotions and suppressed expressions led to dis-ease within my body. A thyroid that struggled, being in a constant state of stress and exhaustion and finally breast cancer. I am delighted to say, no longer has a place in my body.
Learning to let go of all that we suppress, and finding the courage to share my story literally set me free, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
My healing journey inspired me to become an advocate for women, where through my work I give women the support and spaces they need to share their wisdom and share their message heard through the age-old craft of storytelling.

But it’s not just the healing in oneself that I’m passionate about, it’s the ripple effect a shared story has as it inspires others to think a new thought, take a new action, or speak up and share their story.
This is your invitation my friend, come out of the dark and prevent wounds of the past from determining the outcomes of your future!

Open Mic Storytelling is an opportunity for you to take us on a journey of your lived experiences. True stories shared in a safe place of being seen and heard. Innately bringing women together in a space of connection through storytelling.
This is an invitation for you to authentically share a true story about something that happened to you. Spoken without notes, within a time limit of up to 10 minutes. There will be a theme to inspire. It can be funny, courageous, uplifting, educational, sad, or unexpected. Your story matters and we will celebrate you.
Too often, as women, we forget to pause and reflect on the journey we have travelled. By sharing your true story, you are entertaining us with your gift of life experience.

Shaine is an accredited WomanSpeakTM Circle Leader. She facilitates programs for busy professional women to lean into their truth, communicate more effectively at work and home, and empower them to contribute their wisdom and wealth of knowledge with those around them.
